‘He has an outstanding chance’ – Group 1 winner runs at Dundalk on Friday night 🏆

Dundalk Stadium

There are two types of flat horses: summer horses and winter all-weather horses. At Dundalk on Friday we get the rare pleasure of these two worlds colliding as Group 1 winner A Case Of You reappears for the first time since the colt’s globetrotting exploits in the Breeders’ Cup. This injection of equine excellence is sure to boost ticket sales and give racegoers plenty to shout about.

Proper Group 1 Horse

A Case of You has to be one of the most improved horses in training, he progressed rapidly last season. This became apparent when he ran a stormer in the Flying Five at the Curragh on Irish Champions weekend. He was only beaten by half-a-length that day and established himself as a serious contender for all the major international sprint races.

His Group 1 win came in the Prix de l’Abbaye on Arc day at the expense of fellow top level winners Glass Slippers, Winter Power and his Curragh conqueror, Romantic Proposal. He then took on the Breeders’ Cup as a three-year-old against older rivals. It was no easy task and he gave a great account of himself.

Trainer Adrian McGuinness has found a great opportunity for his charge to make a winning reappearance before going on to bigger things when the Flat season takes off. A Case Of You is likely to have strengthened from three to four which bodes well for a potentially big year. He is certain to improve for this run and there is no doubt that this is merely a starting point.

The main danger here has to be dual Listed winner Logo Hunter who showed excellent form last season. Logo Hunter was however put in his place by A Case Of You when the pair met in a similar event over this over course and distance last March. If Current Option can display a similar level of form to that which he showed in the Prix de la Foret, he has the potential to catch A Case Of You cold should the latter be lacking fitness for this reappearance.

One thing is for sure: we should see an exciting sprint prospect who has a great chance of making a winning start to the year. A Case Of You should win. He has an outstanding chance.
