Gordon Elliott plotting triple-pronged 43-1 Perth raid on Monday ☘️

Gordon Elliott Bigbadandbeautiful

Gordon Elliott has an excellent strike-rate at Perth so far this campaign. The County Meath trainer has had 16 winners from 40 runners giving him a strike-rate of 40 per cent. For this reason, the fact that he sends three over on Monday can’t be ignored. Sean Bowen takes the rides and his strike-rate at the track is equally impressive at 39 per cent. It’s also worth mentioning that when the pair combine at Perth, this jumps up to 49 per cent. These three runners combine into a tasty-looking 43-1 treble. 2.15 Perth

The Friday Man (6-4, bet365) made a winning start to his hurdling career at Bellewstown two starts ago. That was a comfortable success with a substantial winning margin of six lengths. The horse that finished fourth that day went on to win its next start. It was a hot race at Galway last time where he finished third to a stablemate and a useful Mullins mare. This race looks easier and his main danger is another Irish raider but confidence will be high for a return to winning ways.

3.50 Perth

Hermann Clermont (8-13, bet365) couldn’t have been more impressive in a three-runner affair over course and distance last time out. It’s probably fair that the handicapper didn’t overreact to that victory and appears here off 9lb higher. There’s a high chance that this lightly-raced chaser has plenty more scope for improvement and can justify skinny odds.

4.20 Perth

Gift Of Kings (10-1, bet365) has the most to prove out of Elliott’s runners. He has shown little in five starts over hurdles but this could prove to be a good opportunity. The gelding goes up to three miles for the first time here which could prove helpful. This is just his second handicap start so there is plenty of scope for improvement and it’s unlikely that we’ve seen the best of him just yet.
