There are two Premier fixtures in Britain on Saturday and ITV will be showing seven races live from Sandown and Haydock. The Coral-Eclipse is the big race of the day and it’s shaping up to be another cracker. There’s Group 2 action from Haydock, as well as the £150,000 Old Newton Cup.
We’re back with our usual feast of outsiders and they include a 25/1 shot at Sandown who’s much better than he showed at Royal Ascot last time out. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Hi Royal (25/1, bet365) placed in both the English and Irish Guineas as a three-year-old, despite the fact that he only has one win to his name. It was a cracking effort when second off a 1lb lower mark in the Thirsk Hunt Cup on his penultimate start. You can forget his run at Royal Ascot last time, as this is a much easier task. This horse should be capable of winning a handicap and a big run is expected here.
Suite Francaise (14/1, Boylesports) is unbeaten in two starts thus far and was particularly impressive under a penalty at Haydock on seasonal debut. The step up to Listed level shouldn’t be beyond her on that evidence and she’s entitled to progress again. Charlie Johnston has been in good form in the last fortnight and it would be unwise to rule this filly out.
Soul Cayo (14/1, bet365) is a progressive horse and he absolutely bolted up at Pontefract last month, which was his first start after a break. The handicapper has responded with a 6lb rise and this is a harder race but he might be worth keeping on side until his limitations are exposed.
