Dubai Future Champions Day – Newmarket Tips

The 2020 Dewhurst Stakes has all the makings of a classic renewal. A deep field head to post and none have more star potential than Chindit. From the same dam line as Derby winner Motivator and by soft ground winner Wootton Bassett, he looks to have the tools to cope with this deep surface.

In a race that was first run in 1839, it’s remarkable that no trainer has had more than four winners of the Cesarewitch Stakes. Mark Johnston currently sits on three and boasts big claims of joining rarefied company courtesy of Mondain. Five of his top seven career RPR’s have come with the word ‘soft’ in the going description, producing his best run last time on his first try at this trip.

Earlier in the card, the best bet of the day could come in the form of Kyprios in the 1.45. Winner of his sole start at Galway, he powered home to win over a mile on heavy ground. The step up to ten furlongs has to rate as a positive and he is already proven on the surface.
