Friday’s racing comes from four venues, as we build towards a brilliant day of racing on New Year’s Day. Lingfield, Punchestown, Warwick and Uttoxeter are on the docket and we’ll have horse racing tips for all three meetings. That includes a NAP of the Day, which has won on five of the last seven times!
Warwick has been a happy hunting ground for Bryony Frost this season, winning on five of her eight rides. That 63% strike-rate equates to a level stakes profit of £11.25 and she has several good chances on Friday. You can see all the analysis below, as she looks to end the year on a high note!
Her best chance of Friday looks to be Lucky Wadham’s Somekindofstar, who enjoyed a strong end to last season. He was a winner at Leicester in March by a wide margin, almost following up when second at Ludlow three weeks later. A course and distance run to end the campaign was poor, but it came to light that he’d suffered a superficial overreach.
That effort is best forgiven as a result and he was a very good second on seasonal return at Fontwell. Headed in the dying strides by a well-treated rival, they pulled clear of the rest and he’s only two pounds higher today. Softer ground suits him and he looks to be the right favourite.
She doesn’t have the strongest of strike-rates, but Little Light sits on a very dangerous rating and surely can capitalize at some stage. She’s suffered heavy defeats on both her starts in 2021, but she’s now 19 pounds below her last winning rating as a result.
A return to heavy ground will certainly suit, given that both her victories over fences have come on a softer surfaces. The softer the lead, the greater her chances, and it’s still early days for her at this lowly Class 5 level.
Lucy Wadham is 2/7 with her bumper horses this season and Samourai One could be another flat winner for the stable. A son of Montmatre, he cost £26,000 as a three-year-old and is a half-brother to several useful performers.
Those include Graded-stakes-placed flat horse Hayabusa One and hurdling winners Katana One and Wakisashi One. Heavy ground will certainly suit him and any positive market vibes would also help matters.
