Owen Goulding is having a week off this week and I am no match for him when it comes to tipping massive outsider winners, but I shall try my best.
ITV Racing returns to our screens on Saturday and we have some quality flat action from Haydock Park, Beverley and Chester. The ground currently is soft and/or heavy at these courses but the forecast is good so we will see some drying.
I have picked out three horses at double-digit odds that I feel can outrun their odds. Make sure that you follow our free horse racing tips every day and if you need some free bets for the racing, simply click on the link.
David O’Meara has had a stranglehold on this race for the last few years, winning it three times in the last five. Cold Stare could go well for him but with Tim Easterby in cracking form, I like the chances of Golden Apollo. He won the Ayr Silver Cup in September 2019 from 2lb lower and his best finish last term was a runner-up finish at York off 1lb higher. A lover of quick ground, the weekend forecast will only enhance his credentials on seasonal return.
Silvestre De Sousa is in ridiculously good form in the saddle at present and is an eye-catching booking on Dubai Station. Robert Cowell’s course and distance winner ran no sort of race in a Listed race at Windsor this month but was 3rd in the Group 2 Norfolk at Ascot in 2019 and is a Group 3 winner on the all-weather. He is a player with the ground drying.
The Richard Fahey-trained Tadleel finished last of the 13 runners when seeking a hat-trick at Wolverhampton in March. He had excuses on that occasion and looked progressive up to that point. His two former runs at Chester have been disappointing but he has a good draw in five here so should get into a handy early position. A mark of 92 should not be beyond his capabilities.
