83/1 Stats Acca for New Year’s Eve: Goodbye 2020!

Warwick Racecourse

Just four meetings on Thursday following the abandonment of Uttoxeter. It still looks an interesting afternoon of racing to finish off 2020 in style. Warwick, Lingfield, Punchestown and Newcastle form the action with a nice mix of jump and flat. There are three interesting runners who have caught our eye from a stats point of view that are separate from our free horse racing tips and these make up a 83/1 acca.

2.25 Warwick – Jonjo O’Neill Racing Club Handicap Hurdle

Lily Pinchin has had just five rides for the yard of Tom Symonds, winning on four of them for a level stake profit of +£11.48. Cyclop failed by just neck to make it a perfect 5/5 on Wednesday afternoon and they team up again with Mr Washington here.

Pinchin has already won on this progressive stayer twice and given the confidence she is riding with at present, it’s no surprise to see Mr Washington the favourite on the early show.

3.05 Lingfield – Get Your Ladbrokes Daily Odds Boost Novice Median Auction Stakes

Since January 1st 2019, Brian Meehan has sent just a pair of two-year olds to Lingfield to run on the AW, both have won! Given his is a southern yard, it’s a surprise that he has sent so few to the track, with Vunipola his representative on Thursday afternoon.

He took a while to get the hang of things at Kempton on his debut but he wouldn’t be the first Meehan trained juvenile to learn an awful lot for his debut for all that he is more likely to do better next season.

3.10 Punchestown – Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle

The yard of Dermot McLoughlin have had two winners in this race as well as a second and a fourth in just six runners in the last 7 years. It does appear to be a race that they target which has to make their 2020 runner, Marino Marvel, an interesting contender.

He bounced back to form over this course and distance last time out. Unlucky to catch a JP McManus one there who attracted some support in the market, he had the rest of the field well beaten off and deserves to finally get his head in front.
