33-1 & 16-1 ITV Outsiders: Back Easterby sprinter to get back to winning ways

Welcome to this week’s ITV Outsiders piece and it was a glorious day for followers of the piece last weekend. We tipped up two horses, one was a non-runner at 20-1 and the other was a winner. Emaraaty Ana, advised at a massive 28-1 was backed into 11-1 and duly obliged for trainer Kevin Ryan in the Group 1 Betfair Sprint Cup.

Adrian Wall looks ahead to an action packed day of horse racing at Doncaster on Friday. Make sure you check out our ITV Racing tips which will be live on the website from about 6pm. A lot of research goes into the tips and they have been a great success over the years. Let’s move on to two horses who I think are drastically overpriced on Friday afternoon.

3.15 Doncaster

He may come with risks attached but that is factored into the price for the Ian Williams runner Cardano. The top weight ran a poor race in the Chester Cup but had a horrible draw in one and followed up with a tame effort at Ascot in June. He did stay this trip at Musselbugh when runner-up to Themaxwecan back in April and Themaxwecan won well at Goodwood on Tuesday. Just 1lb higher in the weights here, if he can recapture that form he looks overpriced at 33-1 at the time of posting.

Lampang (16-1 at the time of posting) was an impressive winner at Hamilton in June from a pound lower than this. This looks like his best opportunity since then to get his head in front. He has run fairly well in some marquee handicaps, drawn on the wrong side in the Great St Wilfred and then finding the drop to five furlongs in Listed company against him last time. He goes on any ground and has returned to a mark that should be within his capabilities if things drop right for him.
