Given the very nature of the track, Chester is a course that has more than its fair share of course specialists. The tight turns and very short straight are not to the liking of all. As such, it’s always worth keeping an eye open for those who have prior winning form at the track.
We have done exactly that with Sunday’s card, finding a 133-1 acca with William Hill at time of writing. There is also racing at Market Rasen and Thirsk for our horse racing tips as well as the final day of the Galway Festival to close out the weekend.
2.10 Chester – Printworks Nursery Handicap
A juvenile contest here but Roman Dragon is already 2/3 at Chester in his two-year-old campaign. They have both come over six furlongs but he has shown more than enough speed to think that the drop to five won’t be any issue. An opening mark of 86 looks fair, with a five-pound claimer taking a little more off his burden.
3.10 Chester – Children’s Air Ambulance Queensferry Stakes
Judicial is 3/4 so far at Chester, including winning this race in 2020. Second on his only other start here, the nine-year-old has not been close to his best in a pair of starts this season but the return to this track could spark him back into life. There is plenty of pace for him to chase which is a help and his career best RPR came here last summer.
4.45 Chester – #TheCrew Children’s Air Ambulance Kids Club Handicap
This track has always bought out the best in Revich, three of his four career wins coming at this track. His form here reads 153114, the fifth coming over six furlongs which is a trip too short, beaten just a length when third and missing the kick in a far deeper race than this when fourth. Always needs maximum respect here and looks set to be right in the mix once more.
