20-1 Monday double for trainer with 50% strike-rate at Fairyhouse in 2021

It’s a busy Monday, with six meetings drawing us into the new week. Leicester, Listowel, Hamilton, Warwick and Fairyhouse are the afternoon hosts, before Wolverhampton takes over for an evening of All-Weather card. We’ll have horse racing tips for each meeting, including a pair of Lucky 15 tips.

Kieran Cotter has enjoyed a strong 2021 at Fairyhouse. The County Laois trainer has won with two of his four runners at the venue, for a very healthy profit of £16.50 to level stakes. He has two very lively chances on Monday they make into an 20-1 double. Find out all the details below!

5.10 Fairyhouse – Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale Nursery Handicap

Cotter saddles the favourite in this nursery handicap, with Rhythm Of Zain looking to go back to back. He had shown minor ability in three opening runs in the spring, but he left those comfortably behind when scoring on nursery debut at Naas four days ago.

He showed a really gutsy attitude, making all the running and refusing to give in, scoring by a nose. A six-pound penalty makes things tougher, but he’s totally unexposed and should have plenty more in the locker. Declan McDonogh retains the partnership and this son of Dragon Pulse is a deserving favourite.

5.40 Fairyhouse – Coast To Curragh Charity Cycle This Saturday September 25th Handicap

Just 30 minutes later and Cotter saddles another favourite, this time in the form of Lord Dudley. He gained his most recent victory over course and distance back in July, cruising clear four lengths, placing on two subsequent starts at Naas and the Curragh.

He was given a big task at the Curragh last time in the form of a premier handicap, acquitting himself fairly to finish seventh. On paper, this is a much easier contest and he’s now a pound lower at the weights. The blinkers that were tried for that run are removed, which is another positive, and he’s the class horse in this race.
