.00pm Fontwell Tips & Betting Preview 04/11/2016

Airpur Desbois was backed as if defeat was out of the question at Towcester last time out after a break, smashed into 4/1 from much larger prices for the Charlie Mann stable. He ran an absolute shocker, never settled in his race at all and ran in snatches. The trainer was interviewed on Attheraces before the race and he said he was very confident but nothing came to fruition. This horse has ability, of that there’s no doubt and with the cheekpieces going back on for this race, that might settle him down. If it does, he must have an outstanding chance. The six year old is yet to win a race from nine starts but he’s now down to a mark of 99 and Tommy Dowling takes off a further seven pounds. He was 4th off a mark of 107 at Chepstow last year so is certainly well enough treated to make his presence felt.

AIRPUR DESBOIS – Very frustrating sort for Charlie Mann. Smashed off the boards at Towcester when last seen but was pulled up. Clearly a tricky horse to train and to ride but he is now down to a very workable mark and he should come on heaps for the seasonal reappearance.

YUKON DELTA – Got off the mark for the Gary Moore yard on his third start for them at Plumpton wearing first time blinkers last month. Up seven pounds so will find this tougher but he looks a horse on the improve. Will have to brush up on his jumping though.

TITCH STRIDER – Last success came off 95 and was second off 102 in the past so she looks really well treated now off a mark of 92 if she can bounce back to form. She is now an 11 year old though so isn’t getting any younger so it’s hard to place a bet on her with confidence.

GUITING POWER – The Nigel Twiston-Davies yard is flying at present so a big run would not be surprise. He steps up in trip and the visor goes on whilst Jamie Bargary also takes off a handy few pounds. Nigel is a great man to improve his horses at this level so a market watch is advised.

GORING TWO – This is his first run over hurdles since 2011 and he has a break to overcome so it’s hard to fancy him on his reappearance. The 11 year old has always been extremely inconsistent and he is sure to need the run and might then go back over fences.

RUN BOB RUN – Only place from his 10 runs to date came at Fakenham back in May where he was 2nd off a mark of 84. He is now down to a mark of 78 and he would have needed the seasonal reappearance run at Bangor in September. Wouldn’t rule out a big run at all.

SPANISH FORK – Very lazy quirky horse who must be very difficult to train. The Sheena West trained seven year old has tasted success just twice from 41 runs and he looks very hard to fancy for win purposes. He is down to a handy mark though which is a positive.

MILLY MALONE – Ran a good race when 4th when an un-fancied 66/1 shot at Bangor last time out and if she can build on that, he is off a nice weight here. She runs off 76 and the tongue tie is on whilst Ben Poste takes off a further 3 pounds.

ARCAMANTE – Very inconsistent horse trained by Micky Hammond who hasn’t run a good race for a very long time. Keeps tumbling down the weights but the horse has very limited ability so is easily passed over.

AALY – Sprung a shock win over course and distance two years ago, winning at 33/1. This dual point winner was destroyed last month and needs to improve but Lydia Richards had a horse run very well at Kemtpon a couple of days ago so a better run could be coming.
