It’s nice to get some bigger fields to get stuck into on the ITV Racing this Saturday. Both Sandown and Wolverhampton are in action with that pair of tracks both offering up outsiders who look bigger prices than they should be. With just a few days to go until the Cheltenham Festival I’m looking to add to my 66-1 winner tipped up on Thursday at Thurles for our horse racing tips.
Fergal O’Brien has done well when targeting this race in recent years. Barney Dwan won the race in 2016, Champagne Well was third in 2019 and Hurricane Harvey filled the same spot in 2020. The yard have had only four runners in the race in the past decade, relying on Marble Sands (20/1) this time around. Steadily progressive over hurdles, he could have been let in lightly off 119 with his bumper form suggesting he is going to be capable of rating much higher in time.
Where’s the money Lebowski? (35/1)Â Not on Michael Scudamore’s charge at time of writing but there is no way that he should be the price he is in the Imperial Cup. He looked a very smart recruit when winning on his first two starts over hurdles before a flop behind Jonbon last time out when massively up in grade at Haydock. There was no disgrace in that and the move into handicaps can see him heading back in the right direction.
A Listed contest here where Tinker Toy (16/1) makes plenty of appeal despite having a bit to find at the weights. The five-year-old has only had seven starts in his life, pitched into a Group 3 last season, for which he was sent off at just 10-1. He reappeared at Lingfield over this trip in February, running a progressive one to three-quarters of a length and there should be more to come.
