Honeysuckle winning the Hatton's Grace

There is some interesting racing on Sunday, Catterick, Plumpton and Southwell in England and Fairyhouse in Ireland. We will have free horse racing tips for all four cards.

The final race at the latter is a bumper. That contest has a trainer with a smart record and he’s not known for this bumper performers. Form of 13122 in the last decade is interesting and more so given this is his first runner in it for five years.

3.50 Fairyhouse – Jump into January @fairyhouse (pro/am) INH Flat Race

Tony Martin is the trainer in question here, running newcomer Patsy’s Honour. Martin’s two winners in the race came in 2011 and 2013, those at 6/4 and 4/1. His three places were 6/1, 7/1 and 25/1 so all each way prices which has to be of interest on Sunday afternoon.

Martin has unleashed some smart types in this contest on debut as he does with Patsy’s Honour. Bog Warrior won this on debut before winning at Grade 1 level and Anibale Fly was second on debut before going onto top table success.  The yard could do with finding a bit of form but most of their runners over Christmas were 33/1+ so didn’t hold the strongest claims on form.

Patsy’s Honour has an interesting pedigree. His dam was a winner on the flat over two miles as well as over hurdles. She is a half-sister to some nice types on the flat as well, including over a mile so there is some speed in the pedigree.

A half-brother to the dam was a solid performer on the flat on the continent, beaten less than a length in a Listed race. He was by Cape Cross who is also the sire of Patsy’s Honour so he has the potential to be decent with this a proven cross that has produced quality.
