6.50pm Chelmsford Tips & Betting Preview 10/03/2016

IN SUMMARY: A few of these deserve consideration in what looks an open race. MANGE ALL (6/1) quickly lost his form after an excellent fifth in the Lincoln for William Haggas last spring but made a very encouraging stable debut when third over an inadequate 7f at Wolverhampton last month and is attractively weighted if his revival gathers momentum. He gets the nod ahead of Brigliadoro, who has also returned from a break with a pleasing effort this year. Something must have been amiss when Revolutionist flopped on his bid for a hat-trick in November but he retains the potential to make further progress and is next on the list.

1 Arnold Lane – Won Class 2 contest over 7f here in November and was placed off today’s mark in valuable event over that trip at Lingfield in January; unable to justify favouritism when eased in grade back at Lingfield last time and hasn’t raced over 1m since 2012, but remains of interest.

2 Revolutionist – Won three of his five starts last season, including handicaps at Windsor (8.3f, soft) and Wolverhampton (8.6f) in October; ran as though something was amiss on latest outing but has scope to make further progress if all is well after 117-day break.

3 Brigliadoro – Usually campaigned over shorter trips and ended 2015 turf season in moderate form last summer, but made very encouraging return from break when staying-on third over 1m at Lingfield in January, where he travelled strongly but didn’t enjoy the run of the race; one to consider.

4 Abbey Angel – Responded well to fitting of cheekpieces and won consecutive starts over 8.6f at Wolverhampton in February; weakened rather tamely inside final furlong at Lingfield last time, though, and needs to find something extra to overcome current mark.

5 Mange All – Quickly lost his way after very creditable fifth in the Lincoln for William Haggas last year but made pleasing reappearance for new stable when keeping-on third over inadequate 7f at Wolverhampton last month; 2lb lower here and very dangerous if able to build on that performance.

6 Loyalty – Getting quite long in the tooth now but has won twice over C&D already this year and had to race wide throughout when third off today’s mark at Lingfield recently; return to this venue an obvious plus and he’s expected to be in the thick of things again.

7 Jodies Jem – Rallied gamely to dead-heat over 8.6f at Wolverhampton in October and was in similar form when close fourth to Loyalty over C&D last month; likely to give another good account but holds no secrets from the handicapper and some of the others appeal more.

8 Slovak – Readily made all over C&D in October and returned from break with another front-running success at Lingfield last month; coped well with rise in class and drop back to 7f when second against own sex three weeks ago but been nudged up another 1lb and takes on males this time.

myracing Forecast Prices: 3/1 Revolutionist, 5/1 Brigliadoro, Mange All, 6/1 Loyalty, Slovak, 7/1 Arnold Lane, 10/1 Abbey Angel, 12/1 Jodies Jem
