‘The title race is over’ – 32/1 five-horse Willie Mullins accumulator on Wednesday

Wille Mullins has some decent chances on opening day.

Willie Mullins’ victories in both the English and Scottish Grand Nationals means the race for the British Jump Trainers’ Championship is effectively over. With the final fixture of the season taking place at Sandown on Saturday, Mullins is looking to have everything firmly wrapped up by then. He’s got four runners at Perth and one at Ludlow on Wednesday so we’ve combined them into an accumulator. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.50 Perth

Dr Eggman (1/2, bet365) is probably starting to run out of chances but this is probably his easiest opportunity to date. A British handicap mark of 132 puts him well clear of this field and it’ll be a major surprise if he doesn’t come out on top here.

2.00 Ludlow

Daddy Long Legs (1/7, bet365) looked like a potential graded horse when easily dispatching Cleatus Poolaw at Thurles in November. The wheels have come off since but the sharp drop in grade should facilitate a confidence-boosting return to winning ways.

2.55 Perth

Loughglynn (6/5, bet365) was an impressive winner of his first couple of starts over hurdles. This includes a one-length defeat of Albert Bartlett winner Stellar Story in a Grade 2 over 2m7f at Limerick in December. His two most recent efforts were underwhelming but he should have this field covered.

3.25 Perth

Instit (3/1, bet365) probably has the most to prove of Mullins’ five runners on the day. That being said, she’s clearly not without a chance. Second in handicap company under a big weight when last seen, she gave the winner 29lb and it was a cracking effort. Her fifth in the Mares’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival is also fair form and a reproduction of that performance will surely put her right in the mix.

3.55 Perth

Figaroc (5/4, bet365) was a good third in a Listed handicap at Gowran last month and was therefore a bit disappointing at Fairyhouse next time. He’s clearly better than that however and it won’t be long before he gets off the mark over fences. This looks like a good opportunity to do so and he’s the one to beat.
