7.45pm Newcastle Tips & Betting Preview 30/11/2017

IN SUMMARY: This is an open affair and the vote goes to RIGHT TOUCH. Richard Fahey’s runner looks to end a losing sequence but he’s now 6lbs below his last winning mark and his run at Doncaster gives him an excellent chance on form. There should be more to come from Tilly Trotter now she’s finally got her head in-front for her new yard.

1 KADRIZZI – Seeks his first win since August 2016 and he’s slipping down the handicap to leave him 7lbs below his last winning mark. He wasn’t beaten far at Chelmsford back in July but the break raises doubts and he’s best watched here.

2 RIGHT TOUCH – Another runner seeking to end a long losing sequence and he also looks attractively handicapped now 6lbs below his last winning mark. He ran well at Doncaster last time out and the drop in grade is a definite positive. Respected.

3 MONT KIARA – Was well-backed when winning a Newmarket handicap off a mark of 80 in the summer and he’s a full 8lbs above that mark here. He ran well in September off a 3lb lower mark and makes just his second start on the All-Weather today.

4 USTINOV – Has been off the track since October of last year and he returns to action off a 3lb higher mark than his last success. His overall form needs improvement and this run may be a pipe opener for a winter campaign.

5 GIN IN THE INN – Completed a double earlier in the season on the turf in a couple of moderate handicaps and he performed with credit in a Class 3 event at Pontefract in July. A mark of 87 looks reasonable but others are preferred in this grade.

6 BERTIEWHITTLE – Placed on his last two starts in big field handicaps and he’s dropped in trip today into this weaker race. A well-run test over 6f at Newcastle should suit his run style and he’s worth consideration off a 5lb lower mark on the All-Weather.

7 TROPICS – Certainly not quite the force of old and he’s without a win since June 2015 which came in a Listed event. He ran with credit in a Class 3 handicap at Kempton last time out and a 2lb drop in the weights helps today. Needs to do more to convince he’s ready to strike off a falling mark.

8 HANDSOME DUDE – Well-beaten off this mark at Haydock last time out and the Heavy ground may have played its part in that effort. He won a Class 3 event off a 2lb lower mark earlier in the summer but doesn’t look well-treated on these terms. Best watched.

9 GLENAMOY LAD – Seeks his third win from 5 starts today for Michael Wigham off a 6lb higher mark having beaten Mont Kiara by 3/4 of a length last time out. He’s evidently improving but he will need to take his form to the next level to come out on top here.

10 FLORENCIO – Has performed with credit in the second half of this year with a win and some solid efforts in Class 4 company. A mark of 84 is fair on the back of that form and he’ll need to improve again to win this tricky handicap.

11 ECCLESTON – Ran well enough on his second start for Julie Camacho at Pontefract last time out over 5f and the step back up to 6f will suit today. A mark of 83 leaves him fairly well-treated on last year’s form and the booking of Graham Lee is positive. Respected.

12 TILLY TROTTER – Won a Class 4 handicap over C&D last time out by a nose and she’s been raised 3lbs for that success. She was rated much higher than this when in Ireland and there’s a strong probability there’s more to come again.

13 KENNY THE CAPTAIN – Has taken his form to a higher level in the latter half of this year and he was narrowly denied over C&D last time out. He’s been raised 3lbs for that effort which is fair treatment from the handicapper although this grade may be a tad too far.

14 BOSHAM – Wasn’t suited by the Southwell fibresand last time out and a 3lb drop in the weights will be welcome for Mick Easterby’s runner. He’s got the ability for this grade based on his form of last year and a mark of 82 looks attractive. Respected.
