6.15pm Chelmsford Tips & Betting Preview 06/10/2017

6.15pm Chelmsford tips for Friday’s Class 4 contest raced over 6f for two-year olds. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: This is a tricky race and the vote goes to FINK HILL. Richard Guest’s runner is tried in blinkers for the first time today and that could bring out enough improvement to see him home in front off a mark of 70. Expecting can do best of the rest having shown continued progression of late.

1 EMILIA JAMES – Has a couple of novice stakes race wins to her name, but she still seeks her first win in handicap company. She was only beaten half a length last time out over the minimum trip and she looks for compensation today now tried over 6f. Franny Norton rides.

2 CENTRAL CITY – Won a Class 5 event at Wolverhampton in fine fashion early last month, but he couldn’t follow that up off a 7lb higher mark on the turf. The switch back to the All-Weather and drop in the weights to a mark of 81 will help, although this is a stronger race.

3 EXPECTING – Broke his maiden at the fifth attempt last time out at Wolverhampton and he races off a mark of 78 on handicap debut. The step up in trip will stretch him based on pedigree, yet he looks to be improving and he’s worth consideration in this with Ryan Moore booked to ride.

4 ANOTHER DAY OF SUN – Ran a respectable race at Newcastle last time out following a gelding operation early last month. He should improve again from that performance and the booking of Silvestre De Sousa is an obvious positive. Others look more progressive, however.

5 FINK HILL – Richard Guest’s runner is tried in blinkers for the first time today following a fourth placed effort last time out. He’s closely tied in with Another Day Of Sun on the form of that run but he can progress past him here. He’s drawn in stall 1 and should go well.

6 STORY MINISTER – Hasn’t been the most straightforward sort and it’s no surprise to see that he’s been gelded since his last run. That should have straightened him out and a 2lb drop in the weights will help. He has something to prove today though.
