4.15pm Wolverhampton Tips & Betting Preview 16/12/2016

Eight runners go to post for the second race at Wolverhampton on Friday afternoon, see our betting tips and full race preview below.

IN SUMMARY: Preference is for the expensive RED GUNNER, who was bought for the price of 115,000gns and has shown promise on both his flat runs so far, including when winning well latest over C&D in a maiden. He should have more to give and is given the vote. The biggest danger may well be Dr Julius No who has also shown promise in both his runs to date including when winning a 6f Auction Stakes at Leicester.

1 DR JULIUS NO – Twice raced so far and has shown promise on both runs to date, including when winning a 6f Auction Stakes at Leicester comfortably back in May. Should have further improvement in him and has to be considered a main danger.

2 LETMESTOPYOUTHERE – Has been running consistently well of late without managing to get his head in front, including when a neck 2nd at Newbury latest (6f, Good to Soft). This longer trip and the switch to the All Weather does pose question marks however but if performing as he has on the turf he has definite Each Way claims.

3 RED GUNNER – Only twice raced on the flat and showed promise on both runs including when winning well over C&D back in November, clearly suited by the step up to 7f. This 115,000gns purchase by Simon Munir & Isaac Souede should have much more improvement to come with a very attractive pedigree and may well be too good for this field today.

4 TAILOR’S ROW – Showed some smart form on occasions but has been out of form the last twice, and needs to bounce back if he’s to feature today. There are definitely more solid options today.

5 PORTLEDGE – Has been running consistently well on turf but is still a maiden at present. Needs to show a bit more on his All Weather debut but not dismissed completely, place claims.

6 KIRIBATI – Hadn’t been running to badly until very poor at Lingfield latest on his All Weather debut earlier this month (5f, Std). Has stamina to prove today and needs to bounce back so probably best left alone.

7 HEAVEN’S ROCK – Hasn’t really been improving since being switched to Nursery’s with three similar efforts, the best of which when 3rd at Kempton latest (7f, Std to Slw). Cheekpieces will need to have a big impact if he is too feataure today.

8 MISS SHERIDAN – 4th the last twice in 7f All Weather Nursery’s at Chelmsford and Newcastle, never really threatening in either run. Luke Morris is up for the first time today which is a plus but she needs to show more to feature today.

myracing Forecast Prices: 2/1 Red Gunner, 3/1 Dr Julius No, 5/1 Letmestopyouthere, 15/2 Miss Sheridan, 15/2 Tailors Row, 9/1 Heavens Rock, 20/1 Kirabati, 20/1 Portledge
