2.00pm Bangor Tips & Betting Preview 31/10/2017

2.00pm Bangor tips for Tuesday’s Class 4 race. More than £4,500 on offer to the winner of this three mile handicap hurdle, a competitive heat despite the small field. Read on for our free betting tips, predictions and analysis.

IN SUMMARY: SIDSTEEL needs a bit to be taken on trust but then so do the others. A first time tongue strap should help him maintain his challenge for a little longer. Pennywell looks well treated if she is ready to go back from a long break while Pearlita has been progressing but has her share of temperament. Sauvignon might need softer ground to be seen at her best.

1 PEARLITA – A pair of three mile wins on decent ground sandwich a blemish when she refused to start at Worcester. A seven pound rise looks harsh for her latest half length win with her temperament making her a tough one to totally trust despite her recent wins.

2 PENNYWELL – Career best stepped up to this trip for the first time when last seen. That was in May 2016 so she has a sizeable absence to overcome, the handicapper just dropping her a pound. Each way chance if straight enough on her return.

3 COOLE CHARMER – Struggled to find any consistency the last two seasons, running well at this track over fences. Shapes as if he needs this trip on good ground but having shown next to nothing on his return earlier this month, he’s tough to be confident about.

4 SAUVIGNON – Stand out form came on the softest ground she has encountered, six pounds higher for that here. Her form on a sound surface is a long way short of that so needs the new trip to bring about significant improvement.

5 WALTER ONEEIGHTONE – Travelled well at Uttoxeter last time when behind Pearlita before tiring close home. A first time tongue strap replaced the cheekpieces he wore there, with the return to better ground suitable. Needs a little more to figure.

6 CLONDAW RIGGER – Point to point winner last December, he is yet to show much under rules. Showed up a little better last time in the spring but was ultimately beaten a long way, will need a significant step forward to land this.

7 SIDSTEEL – Showed his first form when allowed his own way in front over two and a half miles here. He has stopped quickly the last twice so it’s no surprise to see a first time tongue strap fitted. Worth taking a chance on that helping him see it out a little longer given the price.

8 TRIBAL DANCE – A long time since he showed any worthwhile form, nineteen pounds out of the handicap here, he has an impossible task on his hands.
