How We Did It

First up in our Acca was the NAP of the day, Reivers Lad, and the market suggested that we were on a great bet as the Nicky Richards trained hurdler was backed from 13/8 into an SP of 4/5. It proved to be money well placed as the horse tanked along back down at 2 miles and when asked to quicken, he scooted clear of the remainder to win by an easy 6 lengths. We were off and running with an cracking NAP in the locker!

Watersmeet lined up next and didn’t really budge in the market, going off at the same 2/1 price he was advised at. His chance was obvious on his beating of rival Rock Steady at Wolverhampton in December and despite dropping a couple of furlongs in trip, he made all of the running under the excellent Joe Fanning before flying away from them in the straight to score by 2 lengths. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM, it’s ON!

The final horse we needed to win was Tom George’s 5/4 shot Song Saa, an impressive recent winner for us at Huntingdon, and the 7-year-old mare made no mistake. She jumped around Leicester at her leisure, could always be spotted travelling within herself and danced out of the sight of her opposition within seconds of Adrian Heskin giving her some encouragement. KA-BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! £150 Acca LANDED!
