‘You may as well crown him now’ – Willie Mullins can land huge 160-1 DRF five-timer 👑

Willie Mullins after a six-timer at Punchestown

The Dublin Racing Festival kicks off at Leopardstown on Saturday and Willie Mullins is set to have a strong hand again. In an unbelievable showing last year, the Irish champion trainer won seven of the 15 races across the two days. A similar level of dominance is expected this year. With this in mind, you may as well crown him as the Dublin Racing Festival’s top trainer now. We’ve combined his five best chances on Day 1 into a huge 160-1 accumulator. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.20 Leopardstown

Grangeclare West (13-2, Boylesports) had excuses in a Grade 1 at Naas last month. Despite being a disappointing favourite, he was only beaten by 11 lengths. The vet reported that the gelding was blowing hard after the race and was coughing. If back to his best, he retains plenty of ability and should go very well, despite Paul Townend siding with his stablemate.

1.55 Leopardstown

Lossiemouth (4-11, Boylesports) is the best juvenile hurdler we’ve seen on either side of the Irish Sea so far this season. Her form is rock-solid and her chief rival here is a stablemate which she’s already comfortably beaten.

2.30 Leopardstown

Appreciate It (13-8, Boylesports) was a dominant winner of the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham two years ago. He’s since unbeaten in two starts over fences and was very impressive at skinny odds last time out. Stepping up into Grade 1 company was inevitable and Paul Townend rides.

3.05 Leopardstown

Galopin Des Champs (1-3, Boylesports) is an absolute monster of a horse and it’s hard to see any other scenario than a victory here. Would be unbeaten over fences if not for falling at the last in the Turners Novices’ Chase when dominating at Cheltenham last year. Hugely impressive in the John Durkan last time out and should improve for that run.

4.40 Leopardstown

Fact To File (7-2, Boylesports) did it in good style here over 2m4f on debut. Patrick Mullins has sided with him which suggests connections are unconcerned by the drop in trip. Out of the vast number of bumper horses Willie could have run, this one gets the nod and that tells you all you need to know.
