York Tips: Adrian Wall’s 50p each-way Lucky 15 could return £276,000

Mums Tipple wins impressively at York's Ebor Festival

Dante week at York is a week that all horse racing fans look forward to. Adrian Wall knows how to spot a big priced winner and is back with four tasty selections for Thursday’s racing action. The four horses could return a staggering £276,000 with William Hill at the time of posting for a £0.50p each-way unit stake. However, four places is the aim and would be a lovely return.

Huraiz seemed to dislike the good to firm ground at Newmarket at the start of the month, finishing last of the seven runners. He ran some good races in All-Weather handicaps at the start of the year and ran well on his only visit to York. That was back in late 2019 where he finished 4th in the Listed Rockingham behind Aberama Gold on soft ground. He looks well treated now off 92.

La Trinidad tends to come to life in the summer, winning back to back in June last year. He shaped as if in need of the run when a fading fifth of six runners behind Artistic Rifles at Ripon over 1m 19 days ago. Sent off 7-2 on the day, he wasn’t without support and with the cobwebs blown away, he could be a different proposition here from a featherweight.

High Definition, once a very short price for the upcoming Epsom Derby could be all the rage for this. However, he missed out on his Lingfield Derby Trial entry last weekend due to an unsatisfactory blood test. With that in mind, he looks very short for this and Aidan O’Brien’s outsider Roman Empire looks too appealing to ignore. He looked a bit rusty after six months off the track when 5th at Gowran on his return but he is a proven winner in the mud and if he gets a soft lead he could be dangerous.

If you put a line through both of his efforts this year, Burning Cash looks an enormous price for trainer Paul Midgley. He was not at his best at Hamilton last time but last year was 4th in the Group 3 Flying Childers at Doncaster. Measure Of Magic was just in front of him that day, a horse that has won two Listed races since. The second, Sacred, has subsequently won a Group 3 sandwiched between a pair of runs in Group 1 company. That is strong form.
