York Outsiders: Adrian Wall picks out 66-1, 50-1 & 25-1 horses for Thursday

Dorothy Lawrence (50-1) ran very good races in Listed company here and at Chantilly in France earlier in the summer and she can outrun her odds in this. She was made to work harder than expecting when gaining her first victory down in class at Ayr over the minimum trip last month and although much more is needed here, Karl Burke is dynamite at improving these types.

Yes, I am siding with yet another Karl Burke runner in the second race, a fiercely competitive handicap. Media Shooter (25-1) came from an unpromising position to get the better of the reopposing Bidendum when the pair met at Wolverhampton last week. He will need to improve again but he has a handy draw here and again, improvement is expected on what will be just his third career start.

I am very surprised to see a Charlie Johnston runner here at such big odds and that is Outbreak who is 66-1. Like all Johnston runners, this horse is hit or miss, but if on a going day here he is a big threat to all. He bolted up over a mile in a Newmarket handicap in May before running two poor races at Ascot and Goodwood. He is well worth another chance and is still off a decent mark.
