‘Willie’s not messing around’ – red-hot Mullins can strike again with juicy acca 🔥

Willie Mullins after a six-timer at Punchestown

Willie Mullins had an incredible day at Leopardstown on Tuesday, winning six out of seven races. This included a 1-2-3 in the Grade 1 novice hurdle, won by Facile Vega. He’s clearly not messing around during this festive period and he means business. With this in mind, we’ve picked out his four most likely winners at Leopardstown on Thursday and combined them into an accumulator. 1.10 Leopardstown

Shewearsitwell (13-8, bet365) has some improvement to find to topple the odds-on favourite in this race. This mare won her last start over three miles in a competitive handicap at Punchestown. This is a step up in grade but she did win a Grade 3 novice hurdle easily back in October 2020. Mullins always does very well with his mares and it would be no surprise to see her find the improvement necessary to come out on top.

1.45 Leopardstown

Gaillard Du Mesnil (6-5, bet365) is still a maiden over fences which seems incredible. His career-best effort came at Cheltenham in the Brown Advisory Novices Chase. The winner of that race ran a cracker in the King George the other day, solidifying that form. Solid reappearance effort at Fairyhouse when second in the Drinmore. Likely to be sharper here and going back up to three miles will suit.

2.20 Leopardstown

State Man (4-6, William Hill) burst into the Champion Hurdle picture with a four-length victory in the Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown last month. There’s plenty more to come from this horse who should improve for that run as preparations for Cheltenham begin to ramp up. Two stablemates are the possible dangers but it’s likely that he’ll have too much for them here.

3.25 Leopardstown

Lecky Watson (11-4, bet365) crossed the line first at Punchestown last time but was demoted to second after the race. Essentially a winner without a penalty here on that evidence which must give him a wonderful chance. Willie Mullins trained horses often improve significantly between their first and second runs. If the same is true of this horse, he could prove hard to beat.
