Willie Mullins looks set to dominate Thurles on Sunday with standout 5-1 treble

Gordon Elliott and Willie Mullins

Willie Mullins is operating at an astonishing 32 per cent strike-rate so far this season, and the master of Closutton has three outstanding chances at Thurles Racecourse on Sunday. In the last five seasons, Mullins has amassed 60 winners at this venue with a 36 per cent yield, and it would be no surprise at all if the three horses we will talk about below all win! Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips on the website.

1.05 Thurles

The Grade 2 Careys Glass Irish EBF Mares Novice Chase sees a field of six go to post, but Hauturiere should prove far too strong for her five rivals. The classy mare was beaten by Silent Approach and Harmonya Maker at Cork on her return but the step up in trip saw her improve hand over fist, where she obliterated Harmonya Maker at Limerick. She should be too strong.

1.35 Thurles

Owned by Cheveley Park Stud, it’s interesting that the owners run Allaho and Envoi Allen against each other in the Grade 2 Horse & Jockey Hotel Chase, but it’s the former who should come out on top in the hands of Paul Townend. He wasn’t at his very best when third in the King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day, but he still sets a very high bar even if he’s not the horse he was.

2.45 Thurles

Unbeaten in four career starts, High Class Hero is living up to his name and he should be too good in the W. T. O’Grady Memorial Irish EBF Novice Hurdle. He looked very good at Limerick when beating The Big Doyen at Limerick in October.
