Two horses sent on 590-mile round trips to look out for at Catterick on Tuesday

It’s expensive just to get a horse to the races these days and costs are always on the rise. You can forgive connections for running their horses as locally as possible to keep the price down! That’s not the case at Catterick on Tuesday however as two runners based in Devon and Dorset are being sent on 590-mile round trips to North Yorkshire. The pair could be worth keeping an eye on as it’s certainly a long way to go. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

2.20 Catterick

Feach Amach has had just five starts over hurdles so far and she managed to get off the mark in a juvenile hurdle at Sedgefield back in November. The front two finished well clear of the rest and the second has boosted the form by winning since.

Her two starts in handicap company so far have left something to be desired but the handicapper has responded accordingly. It would perhaps be unwise to write her off just yet but the step up in trip will need to facilitate plenty of improvement.

4.20 Catterick

Dr Kananga is pretty well handicapped on his best form although it has been a while since he was last victorious. There were some positive signs of a return to form when second off this mark at Fontwell last time out and he’s on course to return to winning ways soon.

Ben Clarke’s 10-year-old was an impressive winner off a 5lb higher mark at Sandown in February of 2022. If he can find a way of producing a performance somewhere close to that effort, he would have every chance of getting the better of this field.
