Tuesday race of the day: Keep one eye on this 22-1 runner at Worcester

Worcester Racecourse

We have three meetings to look forward to in Britain and Ireland on Tuesday, those being Roscommon, Worcester and Newton Abbot. It has to be said that the quality of the cards is rather poor at best, but one race sticks out like a sore thumb and that is the 6.00pm at Worcester, a competitive Class 2 handicap chase. Let’s take a look at the race in a bit more detail below.

6.00 Worcester Preview

He might now be a 13 year old but it’s fantastic to see Peter Fahey’s Peregrine Run come over to defend his crown in this race. Fahey has had a brilliant few weeks, with several winners at the Galway Festival included, and his stable star can’t be discounted. However, he has a tall order off top weight at his age and might struggle this year.

The next horse worth mentioning is Ruthless Article and we won’t go into too much detail about this horse as we have tipped this horse on the website so view the reasoning for the tip here. Brian Hughes has been booked to ride the Rebecca Curtis trained runner who should have a solid each-way chance at a decent price.

One definitely worth keeping a close eye on in the market is The Vollan and 22-1 might look silly come post time. The Laura Morgan stable is well known for landing a touch and he is now 2lb lower than when successful at Kelso last October. He has an excellent record around here over hurdles and if he can translate that to fences, he would be a big player here.
