Trainer with phenomenal strike-rate at Wolverhampton sends one Monday runner 1️⃣

Charlie Appleby has an incredible strike-rate full stop and it is equally as impressive at Wolverhampton Racecourse. He is operating at 33 per cent there this season with eight winners from 24 runners sent to the track. Last season he had a 38 per cent return at the venue and in the last five years he has had a yield of 34 per cent, quite staggering numbers.

On a normal day, those stats would be significant but it has to be even more significant that Appleby sends just one horse to the track on Monday evening. Make sure you check out the myracing NAP of the Day too as it happens to be the same horse! Our NAP has been in terrific form this month so take a look and make up your own mind.

A’Shaari looked potentially smart in making a winning debut in impressive fashion at Newmarket over 7f last year. She has a top pedigree with her sister Wuheida winning the Marcel Boussac on her second start. She threw her chance away upped to 1m2f in Listed company twice after that when running far too keenly but she ran a big race on handicap debut at Ascot in June when fifth in the Sandringham (winner went on to win a Group 3 and the fourth won a Listed race since) and this is a winnable assignment dropped 2lb.

Goddess Of Fire could prove to be the danger, one of only two course and distance winners in the field. The other is Pomelo but the selection has the beating of that one judged by the Sandringham run. It looks like a fascinating race on paper but it is now time for A’Ashaari to build on that huge promise she showed on debut.
