Trainer with exceptional 75 per cent Goodwood record has one Friday runner

Khaadem winning the Stewards' Cup at Goodwood 2019

Trainer Roger Teal may not be a household name in the world of horse racing but he packs a punch with the ammunition that he gets. Teal has run four horses at Goodwood in 2021 and three of them have won. That is an incredible 75 per cent strike rate to date and he looks to enhance that on Friday. The yard will send just one runner to the track and that could be ominous. 6.23 Goodwood

Roger Teal has already trained more winners in 2021 than he accumulated in the previous five years. He already has 23 winners on the board which surpasses his recent best of 19 in 2019. With the yard doing well, his runner at Goodwood on Friday could be worth following.

Running in the maiden fillies’ stakes at 6.23pm, Sean Levey will partner Blazeon Five. In a race of this nature experience can count for a lot, so the fact she has a run to her name could prove to be an advantage.

Sent off a 28-1 chance on debut at Salisbury over 7f this month, she did her best work late on when running green in the closing stages. She ran on into fourth and it was a run full of promise. There is no doubt that she has plenty of ability.

Now with that run under her belt, she should be much sharper this time around and the step up to 1m1f should suit her judged on her debut effort.
