Trainer with 48% strike-rate at Wolverhampton in 2021 bids for 563-1 Monday accumulator

Wolverhampton Racecourse

The new week begins with four meetings, all on the level. Yarmouth, Musselburgh and Wolverhampton make up the afternoon action, before Kempton takes over for an evening on the All-Weather. We’ll have horse racing tips for all the meetings, including a NAP of the Day.

While looking through the statistics, the good record of William Haggas at Wolverhampton stood out. He’s sent 21 runners to the venue in 2021, with 10 returning as winners. That’s a very 48% strike-rate and a very healthy return of £15.13 to level stakes.

He sends four runners to the venue on Monday and all of them look to have very strong chances, with the biggest price at 11/2. The accumulator pays 563-1 and you can find all the details below.

The first of his runners, Lockerbie is a three-year-old filly who has run on just four occasions. She’s run to a fair standard, including a close third in a Ripon maiden on her third career start. Making her handicap debut at Haydock last time, she finished a disappointing fourth.

She should be suited by a further step up in trip today and although she does have a bit to prove, she’s still promising for top connections.

A daughter of Shamardal, Sareeha makes her debut in the colours of the Shadwell Estate. She’s a half-sister to German winner Al Muthanna and does make some appeal on paper, especially as her Dam was an All-Weather winner. Haggas is two from three with his juveniles at Wolverhampton this year and she merits obvious respect.

5.10 Wolverhampton – Follow At The Races On Twitter Maiden Stakes

She’s yet to score in five career starts, but Lady Rockstar has run to a good standard. She’s posted improved figures with each of those five efforts and since debut, she hasn’t finished outside the top three in four subsequent starts. That includes a pair of seconds in handicaps off a rating of 75.

The return to maiden company is an obvious positive and she has far more experience than all of her main market rivals. If she can run to her best, she should be heavily involved.

The final race of the day and perhaps Haggas’s best chance, as Visala arrives on the back of an all-the-way victory at Yarmouth. That was an impressive performance, as none of her rivals were able to challenge her throughout the contest. She’s gone up five pounds for that, but she’s still very lightly-raced after just six starts.

Given how much she found at Yarmouth, she surely has further improvement under the hood, and should have no problem defying that rise in the weights.
