Trainer who’s +£57 at Wolverhampton sends one runner there on Wednesday

Angles on the all-weather racing this time of year are always worth noting. That is doubled when it is a small yard who are sending just a single runner to a card, running in a Class 6 contest with just £2,781 to the winner.

We will have free horse racing tips for Wolverhampton on the site but let’s dig a little deeper into this runner on Wednesday night.

8.15 Wolverhampton – Betway Handicap (Div II)

The horse in question is Cappadocia who is an eleven-year-old these days. He has also not been seen in action for thirteen months so his chances might not look the most obvious choice on paper. Neither factor exactly scream he is one to be backed but the booking of Richard Kingscote is of interest.

Any rides at this track are always worth noting for Kingscote who has booted home 249 winner there in his life. Trainer, Stephen Michael Hanlon, has sent just nine runners to Wolverhampton so far in his training career. They have produced two winners and two seconds for a level stakes profit of £57, so the yard don’t make the trip just for a day out.

Cappadocia is 7/41 on a synthetic surface, making his debut for the yard on Wednesday night. He has visited Wolverhampton just once, way back in 2012 when the track was still Polytrack, finishing second, beaten just a length. Four pounds lower than when last in action and six pounds below his last winning mark, the market is going to be very interesting to watch for a view of his chances.
