Mr Big Shot winning at the Aintree Festival

It’s another super day of racing on Saturday with the Many Clouds Chase the feature at Aintree and the Tingle Creek at Sandown. It’s the former track that we are concentrating on here. There is a big yard who have smashed in the profit at the track over the last five seasons. Two horses on the Saturday card represent this yard, keep reading to find out who!

11.45 – William Hill Extra Places Daily Novices’ Hurdle

On paper, the opening race on Saturday at Aintree looks one to keep onside. A potentially decent novice hurdle is in prospect here and while he hasn’t been seen for 628-days, the level of form Fly To Mars showed as a novice for Colin Tizzard (albeit without winning) in the 2018/19 season is of a solid level.

Runner-up to Third Wind and Baddesley Knight who are now 144 and 138 rated, if he can return to that form off a break, he will be right in the mix. His dam is a sister to the terrierlike Ollie Magern who was a very smart chaser so there is plenty of hope that there is still plenty more to come from him.

2.40 – William Hill Many Clouds Chase

In a race commemorating a horse who was all guts, it would be fitting to see Native River make it back to back wins in the race for Colin Tizzard. This is shaping up to be one of the races of the season so far with both Frodon and Santini entered at this stage.  He has broken hearts of horses in the past so it will be fascinating to see how Frodon fares if he tries to take him on up front.

Native River has been lightly raced in recent times. His best performance since his 2018 Gold Cup win came in this race last year, thrashing Black Corton by thirty-three lengths. Conditions look ideal for him here so he should give his usual game running.
