Top trainer defends unbeaten record in Thurles contest on Sunday 💯

December was the month to catch the Henry de Bromhead yard from 2017-2019. Things were not so good last year but those prior three seasons saw him produce a level stakes profit of +£140.64. Given the volume of runners, that is a phenomenal figure.

In the first two years of that span, de Bromhead trained the winner of Sunday’s 2.10 at Thurles. They are the only two runners that he has had in the six year history of this race so it’s hugely interesting that de Bromhead targets this contest once more. There are also cards at Fakenham and Kempton for our horse racing tips to get stuck into.

2.10 Thurles – Happy Christmas To All Handicap Hurdle

Mind Your Money is the runner in question, Rachael Blackmore tasked with doing the steering. The winner of a Tramore bumper in the spring, she has been sent off favourite for three of her four starts over hurdles. She has not been able to get her head back in front so far, however.

Handicapping has the potential to see her in a better light and this sharp track could be another help for her to tap back into her best form. She has notched up RPR’s of 110 and 112 in two of her last three runs which would make her opening mark of 105 look more than fair.

These underfoot conditions will be fine for her and she’s bred to be better than she has shown so far. Her half-brother Skint won the EBF Final at Sandown’s Imperial Cup meeting back in 2011 from a mark of 128, with another half-sibling hitting a peak of 125. At an each way price, she has to be considered an interesting contender in de Bromhead’s bid to make it 3/3 in this race.
