Top jockey renews unbeaten partnership with seven-time course winner on Monday

Embour wins at Kempton under Martin Dwyer

A new week kicks off with four meetings, all on the flat. Yarmouth, Musselburgh and Wolverhampton make up the afternoon action, before the All-Weather action begins at Kempton in the evening. We’ll have horse racing tips for all the meetings, including an accumulator.

Some horses will perform better under certain jockeys. Whether it’s their riding style, or a good relationship back at home, the jockey really can make the difference with certain runners. That could be evidenced on Monday, as one jockey teams up with a horse he’s unbeaten on. Can they make it three from three? Find all the details below!

7.00 Kempton – Unibet 3 Uniboosts A Day Handicap

The combination in question is Silvestre De Sousa and Treacherous, who are a perfect two from two. De Sousa hasn’t teamed up with this seven-year-old since last summer, where he scored on him at Haydock and Goodwood. He subsequently scored back at Goodwood under a different rider off a mark of 83, the last time he tasted victory.

Despite being winless in 2021, he’s run to a high standard, including a pair of second-place finishes. Going down by just a short-head off a two-pound lower rating, he also placed at Doncaster two starts ago off a pound higher. He’s clearly on a workable rating and a return to the All-Weather will suit.

Remarkably, he’s 8/24 on the Synthetic surfaces, including seven victories here at Kempton. His most recent Kempton success came over course and distance off just two pounds lower and he’ll be suited by this smaller field scenario. Back at his favourite venue, under a rider he clearly gets on with, he can play a leading role for the in-form Ed de Giles yard.
