Adrian Wall is back with his weekly feast of ITV Racing Outsiders and he has picked out three horses who should outrun their huge double-digit odds at Goodwood Racecourse on Thursday. Best of luck if you follow him, and remember, always bet responsibly.
Godolphin have three in this but the top weight Natural World (16/1) is far too big a price to ignore. The son of Frankel won a Newbury maiden on debut over 1m3f before disappointing in the Derby trial at Lingfield and again at Goodwood. He took a big step back in the right direction when fourth at Newmarket behind stablemate New London on handicap debut and the first time hood can bring out further improvement.
Jamie Spencer gave Marbaan a beautiful ride when landing the Group 2 Vintage at Goodwood this week and when he is in form, everyone else better watch out. Cresta (33/1) looks overpriced here and could hit the frame. His sole success came on debut over 7f at Leicester last August, but he has run well at this level a few times and this step up to 1m4f could be just what the doctor ordered as he was getting outpaced in the closing stages over shorter. Don’t rule out a big run.
I think Jack Mitchell is a hugely underrated rider and Shamlaan (11/1) looks too big at double digit odds here in my view. He got ran off his feet at Chester when last seen but that is his second disappointing run at that track so he might not like it. A former course and distance winner here at Goodwood, he is only 4lb higher and should go well.
