There’s plenty of racing action on offer on Tuesday, with four meetings scheduled. We’ve picked out three runners from Beverley, Newbury and Newton Abbot that have particularly long journeys ahead of them. Ollie Pears, Lucinda Russell and Adrian Nicholls are due to send runners on 653, 573 and 553-mile round trips respectively. When combined, they form a tasty-looking 122-1 treble. Lucinda Russell sends Rory The Cat (10-1, William Hill) on a 573-mile round trip to Beverley from her yard in Scotland. This horse was fifth behind a really progressive sort at Ayr on stable debut last time out. That was also his first attempt at 1m2f. The handicapper has since dropped him 3lb and an improved effort could be on the cards as a result. More will be needed if he’s to get his head in front here but Russell is a shrewd operator.
Max Of Stars (6-4, William Hill) heads to the Devon track from Ollie Pears’ base in North Yorkshire. It’s a 653-mile round trip which requires a significant amount of petrol. She was second behind a potentially useful newcomer on hurdles debut at Hexham last time out. It would be reasonable to expect significant improvement here and this race looks very winnable.
Hurt You Never (7-2, William Hill) also travels south from North Yorkshire. Adrian Nicholls’ sole representative at the track, it’s a 553-mile round trip and she goes in the last race on the card. She completed her hat-trick at Hamilton last time out and this progressive filly should be capable of going in again, despite going up a further 7lb. Mia Nicholls was on board when she won easily on her penultimate start and is set to take the ride again.
