Three mud lovers that will thrive in the conditions at Yarmouth on Tuesday 😍

Yarmouth Racecourse

Storm Babet has been causing havoc in the last week or so and it has led to some pretty testing conditions all over the country. The going at Yarmouth is heavy for their meeting on Tuesday and that’ll be a major factor. With this in mind, we’ve picked out three runners with proven records in testing ground that should thrive in the conditions. You can check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

3.23 Yarmouth

Fen Tiger (5-1, bet365) has a 50 per cent record on heavy ground and is the only runner in the field to have won on it. Julia Feilden’s charge has finished second in his last two starts and was only beaten by a neck at Brighton last time out. A 3lb rise for that effort is perhaps a little harsh but he’s in cracking form and his heavy ground form is a huge advantage.

4.53 Yarmouth

Willingly (10-3, William Hill) won on heavy ground at Nottingham last time out and carries a 5lb penalty as a result. This horse has won three of her four starts on heavy and she faces 10 rivals who have never won on it. It would require a career-best to grab the win here but conditions are in her favour and she’s a previous course and distance winner.

5.25 Yarmouth

Ratafia (9-4, bet365) is unbeaten in one start on heavy ground and that victory came at Redcar last week. He also carries a 5lb penalty but had plenty in hand last time out and may well have a little more up his sleeve. Joanna Mason makes a rare journey to Yarmouth just to ride this horse.
