‘They’ve got a huge advantage’ – Look no further than these track specialists at Brighton

Brighton Racecourse

It’s fair to say that Brighton is a pretty unconventional track and the undulating U-shaped course wouldn’t be too every horse’s liking. This means the horses that do take to it tend to have a huge advantage. We’ve got you covered for Brighton’s meeting on Friday and have picked out three runners with proven course records. They are well worth following and big runs are anticipated from all three of them. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

3.05 Brighton

Time Patrol has been in excellent form recently and has won four of his last six starts. This includes two course successes in his last two and the five-year-old will be bidding to complete a hat-trick. Defending an unbeaten track record, he’s unlikely to be far away once again, provided the extra furlong isn’t an issue. A 3lb rise seems pretty fair and this looks like another good opportunity.

4.40 Brighton

Havana Mojito is another in-form horse and he has three wins and two seconds to his name in seven starts at Brighton. Winning twice here in his last two starts, clearly he’s similarly as effective over 7f and a mile. John Gallagher’s gelding carries a 5lb penalty as a result of his most recent win and he had enough in hand to suggest further success could be on the cards.

5.15 Brighton

Port Hedland finished third in four consecutive starts on the all-weather earlier this season but managed to get off the mark here over a slightly shorter trip last time out. That was his only ever start here at Brighton and a 2lb higher mark shouldn’t prove to be unassailable.
