Our resident horse racing expert Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted some early morning money in the markets on a Denis Hogan runner in the 1.50pm at Punchestown today.

Just seven runners go to post for this handicap hurdle and it has to be interesting that the Denis Hogan-trained Grand Revival is the best backed horse at the meeting this morning. The four-year-old son of American Pharoah is related to Galileo through the dam side so he certainly has an outstanding Flat pedigree anyway.
Backed from a high of 16-1 last night into 9-1 with some firms at the time of writing this post, 11-1 is still available if you shop around. This horse’s sole win came over 1m2f in a Fairyhouse claimer when landing the odds at a shock 50-1 last May.
Grand Revival has run twice over hurdles and ran respectably without ever really being put into the race each time. He finished 29 lengths behind the reopposing Doctor Churchill when the pair met at Limerick over Christmas. What gives him a chance was the fact that was off levels but the favourite must give Hogan’s runner 25lb as it’s now in a handicap.
If the handbrake is well and truly off today, Grand Revival will have a major chance. They are very shrewd operators at the Hogan yard and when the money is down, stand up and take note.
