‘They are not here for a day out’ – Irish raiders form Lucky 15 at Cheltenham on Friday ☘️

It’s Day 1 of Cheltenham‘s three-day November meeting on Friday and it’s an action-packed six-race card. There should be some very competitive racing on show, which is in no doubt aided by strong Irish representation. They haven’t come for a day out or to make up the numbers and the raiders will be gunning for gold. We’ve picked out four of their best chances and combined them into a Lucky 15 for you to consider. 1.10 Cheltenham

Gentle And Kind won the second of her two Irish points and ran a cracker to finish second on her hurdles debut at Kilbeggan in July. She was entitled to take a step forward next time and she did so, when getting off the mark at Tramore. Making her handicap debut here, this looks like a reasonable opening mark and there should be loads more to come.

2.20 Cheltenham

Mighty Tom will never get a better chance at a Grade 2 prize. He takes on three rivals in this very winnable race and a repeat of his latest effort, when second in a Grade 3 at Cork on chase debut, would put him right in the mix. Cian Collins’ charge is well suited by the weight conditions and he should win, according to the handicapper.

2.55 Cheltenham

Galvin is a top-class horse on his day and he retains plenty of ability. It was a great effort to finish second to Delta Work on his first attempt over these obstacles in March. With the benefit of having that experience under his belt, he can turn the tables here.

3.30 Cheltenham

Kinbara could hardly have been more impressive in his two starts over hurdles so far. He bolted up at Wexford in July and scored by the same margin under a penalty at Cartmel next time. There’s not much substance to the form but he’s earned the step up in class and really could be anything.
