‘They are a dangerous yard’ – Charlie Johnston runner halves in price overnight 🐎

Our resident horse racing man Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large gamble taking place at Sandown Racecourse today. 1.40 Sandown

Trainer Charlie Johnston has trained 23 winners in the month of June already and the man is certainly following in his father’s foot steps. He will have a good few runners on Saturday as is the normal for the yard, but one jumps out as a proper market steamer and that is Loyal Touch in the opener at Sandown, who has been backed from 10s into 5s overnight.

Loyal Touch bolted up on good ground at Carlisle last August so ground certainly won’t be a problem for this horse, who also won a race at Kempton in November. He came back from 173 days off the track to run better than the bare result when ninth of 14 at Newbury last month, beaten a couple of lengths, and he should come on a bundle for that seasonal debut run.

Jockey bookings are also very significant and the fact William Buick is going to partner Loyal Touch adds another layer of enthusiasm for backers. The world class jockey has ridden many a winner for the yard and everything looks set for a massive run if the market is to be believed.
