‘There are no excuses’ – 194/1 Chester horses for courses treble on Thursday

Idaho wins the Ormonde Stakes

Chester‘s May Festival continues on Thursday and there’s more compelling action to look forward to. Five races will be live on ITV and it’s a rather unconventional track. Previous course winners could have an advantage so with that in mind, we’ve combined three proven performers into a juicy treble. 1.30 Chester

Roman Dragon (4/1, bet365) has had 18 starts here at Chester and a total of five wins is impressive. Hugo Palmer’s six-year-old was victorious in Bahrain over the winter and he was only beaten by a length when fourth in this race last year off the same mark. It’s hard to argue with his draw, as stall five is pretty good, and perhaps more positive tactics this year could lead to victory.

3.05 Chester

Al Qareem (11/2, bet365) remains unbeaten in two starts at Chester, with both of those wins coming in Listed contests over an extended 1m4f. Karl Burke’s gelding was a winner over 1m6f at Nottingham when last seen and that tells us that the trip here will be fine. The ratings suggest he still has a little bit to find with Illinois but the fitness advantage could make a substantial difference here.

4.10 Chester

Fouroneohfever (5/1, bet365) has also won both starts at Chester and he should improve substantially for his seasonal reappearance. The handicapper has dropped him 1lb since, which certainly won’t go amiss, and he won a race for three-year-olds at this meeting last year. There are no excuses on the draw front and it would be unwise to rule him out once again.
