‘Switching codes has revitalised him’ – Liam is keen on 16-1 outsider in the big one 🔋

We have a brilliant weekend of racing in store for us. There are seven races from Newmarket and York live on ITV on Saturday afternoon. The racing is fiercely competitive which means there is plenty of value on offer. Liam Bramall has gone with three outsiders who can outrun their substantial prices. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

2.05 York

Bay Of Plenty (12-1, Paddy Power) is a fascinating Irish raider. He won his only start at Naas and had a subsequent winner nearly four lengths behind that day. Should benefit a lot from that experience and further progress is expected on his second start. This is an interesting piece of placement from his trainer and you can’t imagine they are there to make up the numbers. There should be plenty more to come from this exciting gelding.

3.15 York

Admiral D (16-1, bet365) isn’t the most consistent but definitely has a win like this in him. Finished second off 1lb lower on the July course earlier on in the season and has been on loftier marks since. Wasn’t disgraced behind a subsequent Listed winner over course and distance off this mark earlier in the season and can bounce back to form here. Richard Fahey is a shrewd trainer who is excellent at targeting specific races and having his horses ready to land them.

3.40 Newmarket

Zoffee (16-1, William Hill) has been revitalised by the switch of codes. Hugo Palmer’s gelding clearly wasn’t enjoying jumping whilst at Phillip Hobbs’ yard so the move has done him the world of good. Already a dual-winner this season, the 2m2f trip should suit. One of these wins came in the Northumberland Plate consolation race which is a stiff extended two miles.
