Navello (7-1, William Hill) was an impressive winner of the Lily Agnes Stakes on this card last year when winning by six lengths and he continues to slide down the handicap. He is now rated just 2lb higher than his last win. It’s interesting that William Buick takes the ride and perhaps more important that stall four is a decent draw.
Improvise (16-1, William Hill) showed a massive amount of improvement from her debut at Newmarket to win at Haydock on her second start. The step up to a mile clearly helped and going up to middle-distances at three should help her to progress significantly more. She’s bred to do the job as her dam won two Listed races over 1m3f and 1m4f respectively. Stall five is a reasonable draw which shouldn’t scupper her chances.
Buckshaw Village (8-1, William Hill) has plenty to find with Pocket The Profit on the evidence of his seasonal reappearance. The 13lb weight swing here will certainly help and it was a much improved effort at Ripon last time out. He has decent form in maiden and novice events as a two-year-old and on the evidence of those runs he has a race like this in him and his slip down the weights will certainly make his life easier.
