‘She has a massive chance’ – Day 4 Royal Ascot outsiders including a 66/1 tip

It’s Day 4 of Royal Ascot on Friday and there are three big-field handicaps with plenty of runners across the seven-race card. This means there will be plenty of opportunities for an each-way play and myracing have you covered. We’ve selected no fewer than four outsiders at substantial prices that we think the market has overlooked. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing, where you will find a tip for every race at Royal Ascot.

2.30 Ascot

Substitute (66/1, William Hill) won nicely on her debut at Ripon and she didn’t have the smoothest of passages through the race. You can certainly mark that performance up as she had to overcome a slow start to get the job done. The soft ground could explain her below-par effort last time and she deserves another chance. Oisin Murphy is an eye-catching booking, especially as he’s having a great week.

3.05 Ascot

Pandora’s Gift (20/1, bet365) has been dangerously overlooked here. Stuart Williams’ talented and progressive filly has a massive chance and her odds don’t accurately reflect that. She was a very easy winner of a Listed race at Chelmsford when last seen and there’s loads more to come from her. It’s her first start on turf so she has to prove the surface is fine but big things are expected nonetheless.

5.05 Ascot

Soprano (28/1, Betfair) was competitive in Group races as a juvenile and she’s very interesting on handicap debut. George Boughey’s filly was keeping on when third in a Listed race over 7f earlier this month. Stepping up to a mile should suit on that evidence and the drop into handicap company can facilitate a huge run.

6.15 Ascot

Got To Love A Grey (40/1, bet365) began the season with victory in Listed company at Chantilly and has struggled a bit in her next three starts. This is her handicap debut and going back down to the minimum trip should be in her favour. A respectable fifth over course and distance in the Queen Mary last year, she’s more than capable of making the frame.
