Saturday Punchestown Outsiders: Watch out for a Charles Byrnes gamble 👀

Adrian Wall is back with his weekly feast of horse racing outsiders and he has picked out three horses who should outrun their large odds on Saturday at Punchestown Racecourse. Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips for the weekend, and remember, always bet responsibly.

3.10 Punchestown

Velvet Elvis has the burden of top weight in the 3m7f handicap chase but he might have the class to see off his rivals nonetheless. He was pulled up in the Aintree Grand National and that can easily be excused but he wasn’t without support on the day which is interesting. He was an impressive winner at Navan in February and won a big pot in March last year so clearly has plenty of ability. Big player if he sees out the trip.

4.25 Punchestown

Sam Brown had a bad fall at the Chair in the Aintree Grand National but if he is none the worse after it, he is of interest to me. Anthony Honeyball had a handicap winner already at Punchestown this week with Kilbeg King and this is a race that has been won by a British raider twice since 2014. Sam Brown won a big handicap at Aintree last year and is only 3lb higher now.

5.30 Punchestown

The Charles Byrnes trained Green Glory won’t be an enormous price but he looks value nonetheless. He won his bumper here at this track this time last year, and was far from disgraced on his sole hurdles start here when sixth behind Sandor Clegane who was an impressive winner here this week. Down at the foot of the weights, he has a great chance.
