Sandown horses for courses: Adrian picks out three track winners to form 23-1 treble

Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running at Sandown Racecourse on Friday. The treble returns great odds of 23-1 at the time of posting. Best of luck if you have a play.

1.15 Sandown

Possibly one of the forgotten horses with regard to the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, Nicky Henderson’s Southoftheborder bids to bounce back from an underwhelming performance here in a Grade 2 over 2m4f last time, where he unseated rider when back peddling. Nonetheless, he won his bumper at Ffos Las impressively last season and won over track and trip on his reappearance so he’s not one to give up on.

2.25 Sandown

The Skelton team bid to land this competitive six runner chase with Mount Tempest, who certainly knows his way around this track. Twice a winner over hurdles, he won over course and distance in December before following up at Wetherby in style this month. In his current form, he could prove very hard to beat.

3.00 Sandown

Winner of the Grand Military Gold Cup last year, Broken Halo is back for more and bids to make it a perfect 3/3 under amateur rider Jody Sole. Paul Nicholls’ gelding has failed to complete in his two outings this season but should win this if back to his best. He comes with risks attached but he is the most likely winner.
