Royal Ascot outsiders: monster long shots at 100-1, 40-1 and 28-1 for Day 2 🏹
It’s Day 2 of Royal Ascot on Wednesday and there’s some awesome and highly competitive action on offer. The fields are packed with runners, which means there will be plenty of each-way opportunities and plenty of extra places. With this in mind, we’ve selected three outsiders at mammoth prices to consider on Day 2. These include a 100-1 shot in the last race of the day, as well as 40-1 and 28-1 chances. 2.30 Ascot
Princess Chizara (28-1, William Hill) would probably be much shorter here if trained by a bigger name. This two-year-old filly was very impressive when making all to win on debut at Brighton last time out. Pulverising the odds-on favourite that day, she has the potential to be smart on that evidence. Obviously more will be needed here, significantly up in class, but she’s entitled to improve plenty from that debut effort.
3.05 Ascot
Love Interest (40-1, Paddy Power) finished down the field in this race last year from an unfavourably low draw. She goes again here off a 4lb lower mark with a lovely high draw. Connections attempts to contain her mark haven’t gone unnoticed and the return to handicap company should suit her massively. Significant physical improvement is expected from her seasonal debut in Group 3 company last time out.
6.10 Ascot
Seven Questions (100-1, Paddy Power) was plenty babyish on debut at Redcar and made life very difficult for himself. He reportedly lot a shoe and he ran well under the circumstances. A little too free at Yarmouth last time out, he was only just nabbed on the line and finished second. George Scott’s gelding is related to a Group 2 winner and is slowly but surely getting the hang of it. The penny may drop here and marked improvement could be on the cards.
