Newcastle 86-1 accumulator: three with high draws can pounce late

The straight course at Newcastle takes some getting and in general you need a horse that might stay that little bit further. There is often a strong crosswind too, which can really favour those who like to be held up and in particular those that are drawn high.

With that in mind, we have found three runners running at Newcastle on Tuesday evening who fit the bill. All three horses have a big chance and should give us a run for our money.

7.55 Newcastle

Drawn eight of the eight runners, Tinker Toy will take all the beating in the Equine Products In Qatar Handicap, a Class 3 contest. Roger Varian’s War Front colt should have no bother with this surface and won a pair of 7f races at Salisbury and Doncaster last season. He then finished third in a very messy race at Doncaster but there is surely more to come for this exciting progressive runner.

8.25 Newcastle

Connor Beasley and David Barron have been a great combination of late and they have another live chance here with Viva Voce. The four-year-old Intense Focus gelding will get a lovely early position by the near rail coming from stall 14. He finished third here over 7f when last seen, looking like this step up in trip would be in his favour. The handicapper has only raised him 1lb for that run and he should not be far away.

8.55 Newcastle

Again, drawn 14 of 14 in the finale, Hail Sezer must have very sound claims off the back of his recent second at Wetherby when beaten just a short head. He makes his tapeta debut from just a 2lb higher mark and still has very low mileage on the clock. There should be more to come.
