‘Never underestimate Hollie Doyle’ – 16-1 and 14-1 ITV Outsiders on Friday 👌

Hollie Doyle Amtiyaz Royal Ascot

There’s some quality action on offer this Friday. Day 2 of Newmarket‘s July Festival is supported by a couple of competitive meetings at York and Ascot. ITV will be showing four races from Newmarket and two from York. With this in mind, we’ve selected no fewer than four outsiders for you to consider. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.50 Newmarket

Like A Tiger (14-1, bet365) is lightly raced and unexposed in handicap company. James Ferguson’s charge only made his handicap debut on his penultimate start and he bolted up off a 9lb lower mark. Things didn’t go to plan in Listed company last time out but there’s more to come from him in this sphere. Hollie Doyle takes the ride and she should never be underestimated.

2.05 York

Gweedore (14-1, bet365) has been around the block a few times and is a fairly prolific winner. Katie Scott’s six-year-old was a good second off 2lb lower over course and distance on his penultimate start. His jockey takes 7lb off here and that could make a massive difference.

2.40 York

Radio Goo Goo (16-1, bet365) appears to be one of the most progressive horses of the season. She won off 72 in March and has since flown 18lb up the handicap, as a result of running up a four-timer. Her winning run came to an end at Royal Ascot last time out but she deserves a crack at this Group 3 prize and could substantially outrun her odds.

3.00 Newmarket

Themaxwecan (16-1, bet365) would ideally like a longer trip here but is capable of running a big race nonetheless. Charlie Johnston’s gelding last won over two miles at Ascot, off a mark of 92. Running off a 1lb lower mark here, he should be keeping on strongly at the finish.
